It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Ethel Marie Gillis of Halifax at the age of 81.
Ethel passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Phillis Pettipas of Sydney.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Gregory, brothers, Arthur and Gerard and sister Lorraine.
She is survived by her daughters, Kendra, Karen and son Kevin and four granddaughters.
Ethel is also survived by her sisters, Mena Yurchesyn, Anna Mae Stone, Dolores Gariepey, Yvonne MacKinnon, Viny Burkey, Kay Morrison and Elaine Roach.
Ethel was a kind and gentle soul who always put others needs before her own. She was a woman of great faith.
Funeral mass was held Monday, Dec. 28 at St. Agnes Church, Halifax.
