Ada Myles (Hackett)

On December 27, 2015, our lives changed forever after the passing of our beloved mother, Ada (Hackett) Myles. We would like to acknowledge the many friends and neighbours who helped us through this time with your cards, messages, food and donations to Sacred Heart Parish.

Mom’s great loves were her family and her church. She loved attending Mass at Sacred Heart Church and her family was proud to take part in her service. Thanks to:

Her sisters Elizabeth and Patricia, daughter Elizabeth and daughter-in-law, Dianne for placing the pall; her daughter Julia, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, special cousin Deanna Gaulton for reading, and her # 8 girl, Kathleen Compagnion for attending as Eucharist Minister; Her granddaughters Andrea, Sarah and Rebecca for carrying the gifts; and her sons-in-law Garry, Aaron, Dan and grandsons David, Christopher and Ryan for carrying Mom to her resting place beside our father.

Father Don Leonard - words cannot express our thanks to you for the support you showed us during this very sad time. Your prayer service was so uplifting and your homily was a beautiful tribute to our Mom and her faith, which she practiced to the end.

Sister Donna Kelly and Barbara Hickey - thank you so much for the beautiful music and singing Mom’s favourite hymns. Thanks also to Tony Griffin for singing Mom’s special request. We would also like to thank the altar servers: Joe and Marie Byrne, John Carroll and Michael Leonard, for helping us pay tribute to Mom.

Mom was lucky to spend her last year at home in the care of Jean White, her homecare attendant. They formed a very close relationship and enjoyed much laughter during their time together. Jean, we are so grateful Mom had you in her life.

Dr. Amy Pieroway provided Mom with outstanding care, visiting her at home and doing whatever she could to make Mom comfortable. Dr. Amy, we all appreciate your dedication and friendship. The Staff at Emergency, the 4th floor and Palliative Care were so respectful to Mom and to her family as well. They went above and beyond to ensure Mom’s comfort, and to do whatever they could to help our family cope with Mom’s illness and passing. Mom also received care from two exceptional Community Health Nurses Tammy Benoit and Jackie Kennedy. Thank you for your excellent care of our Mom.

Distance and weather prevented attendance by grandchildren and Mom’s youngest brother. We know you all loved Mom dearly and you were certainly here in spirit.

Mom died as she lived, surrounded by her family. We will love and miss her always, but find consolation in knowing she is with our father and those that went before her.

With sincere gratitude –
The Family of Ada (Hackett) Myles
