The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, January 10, 2016, of Marie Florina (nee Arsenault) Gallant at the age of 93 years formerly from Abram's Village. Beloved wife of the late Louis Gallant. Florina was born in Abram's Village on July 29, 1922, daughter of Philibert and Marguerite Arsenault. She is survived by her loving children: Claude (Shirley) Alberta; Paul (Nicole) N.B.; Jeannette (Ray), Michel (Gloria) N.B.; Elise, Roger (Géraldine) N.B.; Roland (Michelle) Ontario; Colette, Nicole (Maverick) Alberta; and son-in-law Maurice Laforest, N.B. Florina was a passionate grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Will be forever remembered by her sisters Denise, Aline, Sr. Jeanne, Louise, sister-in-law Aurore and brother-in-law Fr. Charles Gallant. Florina is predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter Simonne, sons-in-law Wendell, Charlie, daughter-in-law Gaetane, grandson Craig, four brothers and four sisters. Resting at the Evangeline Coop Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Thursday, Jan. 14, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Florina's memory to the Wellington Fire Department would be greatly appreciated.
