James Murphy
Murphy, James
1936-2016
James "Jim" Murphy, 79, formerly of Scoudouc, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday January 14, 2016 at the Villa Providence, after fighting multiple illnesses. Dad was born December 3, 1936 to the late Fred and Kathleen (Smiley) Murphy of Windsor, NS.
He loved nature and the outdoors. He was a friend of Bill W. He was an avid competitive marksman. He worked as oil truck driver for Co-op Windsor, N.S., oil burner technician for Shell Oil Moncton, Rick's Flower Shop Riverview, and Town of Shediac. He was always tenderly "sprucing up" his yard. Dad loved fiddle music. As a drummer, he played many old tyme dances and radio shows with his brother Jack in N.S. He played guitar, painted nature scenes, and did woodworking.
He is survived by his son Michael (Tammy), grandsons: Keagan and Kieran, all of Saskatoon; daughter Cathie (Danny), grandchildren: Buddy and Angie, all of Sackville, N.S., many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis (Connors), second wife Rosaline (Melanson), brother John "Jack", and sister Patricia.
Special thanks to Sue and Don Fougere who gave so much of their time and love to Dad (and Mom Rosaline). Special thanks to all doctors and healthcare staff, and the staff at Villa Providence in Shediac, who devoted their caring and loving hands to him until the end. Our family is forever grateful. Rest in peace Dad. Your example of giving and caring to so many will live on.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday January 18, 2016 at 10:30 am.
