It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Axen at Evergreen ECU in Powell River. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Mary in June 2000.

He leaves behind his stepson Les Brindise (Trish) of Brisbane, Australia, stepdaughter Margaret Reckenberg (Tom) of Powell River, granddaughters Anne-Marie Soroke (Owen), Marnie Reckenberg (Tobias Liebelt) and Cathy Reckenberg, as well as great-grandchildren Victoria, Rebecca and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother David Axen, sister Iris Henslowe and cousin Arne Axen (Laila).

Frank was a proud member of the Plumbers Union for fifty years. He worked in the trade, was an Inspector for the city of Vancouver and later taught at Technical School. He retired after working at Burrard Shipyard.

During his battle with Parkinson's, Frank was a true gentleman, always showing appreciation to those who cared for him. His smile will be dearly missed.
