William of Pleasant Avenue Hollett
Passed peacefully away at The Escasoni Complex on Saturday, March. 29, 2008 in his 92nd year. William was a World War II Veteran, served in the 59th Heavy Artillery for two years and spent three years with the Navy. He was well known for his sense of humour, song writing, and his ability to make rhymes instantly about anyone or anything at anytime. Predeceased by his first wife: Catherine (nee Hogan 1948); sisters: Selena Hollett and Marge Lythcott-Kennedy; daughter: Jean Anthony and son: Clayton Hollett. Left to mourn and never far from his side are his wife of 51 years: Lily (nee Mullett); daughters: Harlean Gudgeon (Alabama), Joy Barrett (Makkovik, Labrador); sons: David (Effie) Goose Bay, and Bob (Cathy) St. John's; nieces: Doloros Jones (Ray) Gander and Linda Graham (Jim) Ontario, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett's Chapel on Tuesday April 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor.
