Passed away suddenly in his sleep, on Sunday January 17, 2016, at the age of 44 years. Brian Daniel King ("Danny"); B.A, B.ED, B.Phys.Ed, Masters Phys.Ed.(honors). He was a Physical Education and Nutrition teacher, at Waterford Valley High School in St. John's, and a coach to many teams. Danny excelled in rugby with the Swilers Rugby Club and the Newfoundland Rock team, winning many championships. He was a junior and master weight-lifting champion and held the Master Canadian bench press record at the time of his passing. Left to mourn; his parents Bill and Marie, brother Bill Jr. (Anne O'Grady) and sisters Lois (Robin Lacey) and Lynn (Robert Elliott) and his precious nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Danny so much: Cathleen, Laura and Julie King; Nicholas and Sammy Elliott; Evan and Alexandra Lacey, as well as his many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends and Students. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, January 22 from 12 - 8 p.m. A Celebration of his Life will be held at St. James United Church (Elizabeth Ave, St. John's) on Saturday January 23, at 10 a.m. A private family interment will follow. No flowers by request; in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or to the local S.P.C.A.
