Leaving us with many wonderful memories, we sadly announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend at the HSC following a short illness. She is predeceased by her parents John and Bertha Skiffington, brother Wallace, sister Myrtle and other family members. She will be fondly remembered by her husband of 37 years Fred, her son Mark (Krista) of Paradise, daughter Stephanie (Andy Lodge) of Clarenville and her grandchildren Madden and Ella Whiffen and Freddy and Sadie Lodge whom she adored. She also leave to mourn her sisters Alice (Norman) Murphy of Conception Harbour, Eileen Stickley (John White) of Catalina, Eva Skiffington of Clarenville, brother Eugene (Doris) Skiffington of Upper Amherst Cove and brother in law Bill Carter of Clarenville as well as brothers and sisters of the Whiffen family and a large number of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation at Strathies Funeral Home, Bonavista, NL on January 23, 2016 from 10 am to 10 pm. Funeral services to take place at Bonavista Memorial Church on January 24 at 2:30 pm.
Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Cross blood services. The family would also like to encourage family and friends to donate blood in her memory to this life saving service.
