John Robert (Bob) Conway

Bob passed away suddenly at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. The middle son of Thomas Patrick Conway of Colliers and Alice Clare Kennedy of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Bob grew up in St. John's where he attended St. Bonaventure's College and Gonzaga High School. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts from MUN in 1968 and his LLB from Queen's in 1971. After articling in Corner Brook, NL, Bob began private practice in Gander, NL. Later he moved to Toronto and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1977. Thereafter he pursued his passion as a prosecutor first with the Law Society of Upper Canada and later with the Government of Ontario. Bob was a committed athlete and completed the Boston and New York Marathons. Winters found Bob on the slopes in Colorado. In Ontario Bob taught skiing to children with disabilities through the Track 3 program as a volunteer for many years. Bob's other passions included automobiles and photography. Bob leaves to mourn his wife Galina and her sons Alexi and Alex Kuznetsov, his brothers Tom (Reine), Gerry (Diane), nephews and nieces Danelle, Jason, Scott, Sarah, Kerry and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Danielle Bourdeau and the staff of Sunnybrook Hospital for their many kindnesses. Visitation was held in the chapel of Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Ave., Toronto on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
