Passed peacefully away at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Lena Elsie Rose (nee Slade), aged 70 of Arnold's Cove Station, daughter of Malcolm and Louisa Slade of Kingwell, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by parents Malcolm and Louisa Slade, sisters Stella Boutcher (Llewellyn), Ada Barron Collett; sister in law Marie Downey; brother in laws Perry, Gerald, George and Francis. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Eric of 55 years; daughter Juanita Hickey (Eugene), Arnold's Cove Station; Sherry Pendergast (Tom), Arnold's Cove Station; Bonnie Rose (Ron), Halifax; sons Glen Rose (Marina), Edmonton; Ross Rose, Mount Pearl; and Rodger Rose (Brenda), Fort McMurray. Six grandchildren Chris Pendergast, Jocelyn Hickey, Jared Rose, Skyler Rose, Ryan Adams, and Sean Benoit. Sisters Hilda Waine (late Richard), Savannah GA; Violet Slade (late Clem), Arnold's Cove; brother Berkley Slade (Ettie), Arnold's Cove; brother in law Rev Lloyd Collett, Arnold's Cove; sister in laws Anita Rose, Whitbourne; Norma Thistle, Gander. As well as a large circle of extended family and friends, and very special close friend Caroline Best (Ted) in Ontario.
