Deanna King

KING, DEANNA STEPHANIE
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Deanna King announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by those she loved. Born in Saint John on July 25, 1979, she was a daughter of Steven Brewer and Mary Jayne (Degrace) Underhill.
She was the loving and devoted wife of Michael E. King, and caring mother to her precious daughter, Ashlynn.
Following a breast cancer diagnosis in March of 2015, Deanna chose to advocate for awareness and survivors. She saw herself as a survivor, as did everyone who felt the effects of her heroic efforts worldwide. She made such an impact on so many lives, it’s important to understand that she did not lose the battle – she fought, and she won.
Deanna was a compassionate woman who loved humans and animals, and was a supporter of the Saint John SPCA – Animal Rescue as well as a voice for domestic violence awareness and a big part of the movement to end it. She was an executive assistant at Irving Oil Ltd. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude for the support and generosity received from them.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Michael King and daughter Ashlynn; her mother, Mary Jayne Underhill (Daryl); father, Steven Brewer (Carol); her siblings, Jonathan Underhill, Jerrad and Kristen Brewer; grandparents, Francis and Heather Degrace and Merle and Joan Brewer; a large circle of extended family and friends; as well as all the people she touched through her work raising awareness to better peoples lives.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, January 30 and January 31, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A celebration of Deanna’s life will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 from the Church of the Resurrection, 20 MacDonald Avenue, Grand Bay–Westfield at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances made to Saint John SPCA – Animal Rescue or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
