SWANSBURG, Dorothy Mary, (Ringer), 90, of Little Harbour passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Merton Swansburg, her four sons, Dan (Brenda). Richard (Lorna), Lester (Rebecca) and Roger (Wanda), sisters Beulah Goulden, Shelburne, Hazel Williams, Stoney Creek, Ontario, eight grandchildren, Melissa, (Adam Boland), Karla (Frank Power), Amanda (Josh Spencer), Janel, Arlo, Chloe, Erika and Kyle, and four great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Douglas, Clarence and Terrance (Ted) and three sisters, Margaret, Irma and Jennie. Dorothy was a member of Little Harbour United Church. She was active in the local United Church Women’s group, (UCW) for many years. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, baking and playing cards. Dorothy and her husband Merton were avid campers and spent many a happy summers at Ponhook with their camping friends of all ages. Dorothy loved travelling and visited every province in Canada, the state of Texas and cruised the Caribbean. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Memorial donations may be made to Little Harbour United Church, Alzheimers Society or charity of your choice. Funeral service was held at Little Harbour United Church on Monday, February 1, 2016 at with Pastor Kevin Cox officiating. A reception followed in Little Harbour Community Hall.
