1929 – 2016
Arthur Richard, 86, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Tuesday February 2, 2016. He was married to Eva (LeBlanc) Richard. Born in Saint-Norbert, he was the son of the late
Francois and Rosanne (LeBlanc) Richard.
Arthur worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Montreal for 40 years.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Eva, his two daughters; Carole Richard and Diane Richard (Réginald Richard) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, three grandsons; Serge, Sébastien and Mathieu and one great grandson, Jean-Francois. He also leaves one sister Delphine Richard of Saint Hubert, QC and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one son Serge (1978), five sisters, Clarenda, Joséphine, Florida, Edna and Delcina as well as four brothers, Alyre, Olivier, Pierre and Néri.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Thursday February 4, 2016 from 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Marie-de-Kent Church on Friday February 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
