Beattie, Shirley Reta
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, sister and friend on February 10, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. No longer will you suffer-we love you.
Shirley was born on August 6, 1948 in Densmore Mills, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late George and Violet (Densmore) Beattie.
She was a very kind, caring and dedicated hard worker with over 35 years of loyal service at the Colchester Hospital / Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Shirley loved the outdoors; she was always going for walks or sitting outside with friends. Her biggest love was spending time with those closest to her and with her special feline Britney, which she rescued from the SPCA.
She leaves behind beloved Britney; sister Kathy, Truro; brother, Hollis (Darlene), Truro and cherished nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by both her parents and her loving sisters Margaret Bushie, Juanita Harren, Georgie Hatfield and Olive Beattie.
A Service in Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 17, at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Interment will be held at a later date.
As Shirley’s family we would like to express a sincere thank you to staff of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for all the care and love given to her during her illness. Shirley has touched many with her kind and caring way and she will be in our hearts forever. Donations in the memory of Shirley can be made to something very close to her heart, the SPCA.
