Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on February 12th, 2016, at age 70, after a long and courageous battle with scleroderma and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Predeceased by her father Lloyd Walters. Leaving to mourn her mother Joy Walters; her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, David Murphy; daughter Debbie Strang (Terry); sons: Trevor (Jo-Ann) and Stephen (Donna); precious grandchildren: Chris Strang (Anthony), Ryan and Jennifer Murphy. Also leaving behind with many fond memories from the Murphy family are sisters-in-law: Mary Kavanagh (Joe - deceased), Gertrude Horan (Larry - deceased), and Joan Aspell (Doug); brothers-in-law: Donald - deceased (Mabel), Kevin (Audrey), Frank (Bea), Joe (Catherine), Bill (Doris), and Mike (Judy - deceased), a large number of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who meant so much to Joyce. Special thanks to the physicians, nurses and staff of St. Clare's 7th Floor West and Maxine Dawe, RN for the care and love shown during Joyce's illness. Cremation has taken place at Joyce's request. Visitation at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue on Monday, February 15th 7-9 pm and Tuesday, February 16th 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Celebration of Joyce's life on Wednesday, February 17th at 11 am at Barrett's Chapel with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
