Lodge Jr., Frederick Herbert
We announce the passing of our Dad, Frederick Herbert Lodge Jr, husband of the late Rose Mary Alice (Goguen) in his 72nd year which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 11th 2016. He was the son of Frederick Lodge Sr. and Marion (Beckingham).
Frederick was a hard worker who devoted his life to providing help to those in need. In his younger years, he spent 25 years enrolled with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was stationed in Egypt in 1974-1975. Later in life, Frederick ran the Air Forces General Kanx Store and if he had it his way, would have kept the store open 24/7 as he understood others had a need for certain items at all times. Following this, Frederick worked for the Corp Commissioners for 25 years until age 69.
Frederick is survived by his son; Gordon (Sheri) of Alberta, 3 daughters; Elizabeth (Catherine) of Alberta, Theresa, and Marion both of Saint John. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Jennifer, Lesley, Mackenzie, Madison and Patricia; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving wife, Rose Mary and his parents, Frederick is predeceased by his brother Gordon, sister Barbara Ann and cousin Bobby Ellis.
Frederick’s family will receive family and friends at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Wednesday February 17, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. A Celebration of Frederick’s life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday February 18, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
