Elsie Gertrude (nee Dunphy) Doucette

The death occurred peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 15, 2016, of Elsie Gertrude Doucette (nee Dunphy) of Summerside, aged 76 years. Wife of the late Joseph Gerard Doucette. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bernice (nee Gallant) Dunphy, her sister Irene MacRae and a granddaughter in infancy. She is survived by her daughters Peggy (Kevin) MacIntyre, Grand River, and Gerry (David) Buchanan, O’Leary. Also lovingly remembered by grandchildren Kyla MacIntyre and Dee Jay Supernault, Grand Prairie, Alberta; Malcolm and Ashley Buchanan, Summerside; Mark Buchanan and Aimee Brighty, Cascumpec; Tyler MacIntyre and Robyn Wood, Grand River; Christina Buchanan and Adam Smallman, O’Leary; and her great-grandchildren Carlie Doucette, Griffin Smallman, Lincoln and Weston MacIntyre and DonTay Buchanan. Also survived by her sisters Florence (Armand) Gallant, Summerside; Anne (Blair) LaRoche, Summerside; Paula (Paul) Champion, Lower Darnley; Helena (Western) Fall, Crapaud; Colleen (Roger) MacKay, Sleepy Hollow; Janet (Paul) Arsenault, Summerside; Kim Dunphy (Barry Arsenault), Urbanville; and brothers Bobby (Shelley) Dunphy, Summerside; Gary Dunphy (Mary Ferrish), Kensington; Joe (Dianne) Dunphy, Mississauga, ON; brother-in-law Benett MacRae, MacEwen Mews, Margate; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Thursday, Feb. 18, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery at a later date.
