It is with great sadness that the family of the late Douglas Roy Howe announce his passing on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 53 years Helen (nee Brake); children: Linda Howe, Roy Howe (Mary Grant), Brett Howe (Linda Brandridge), Trent Howe, Tammy (Harry) Munden and Tina (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren: Tonya, Katrina, Sarah, Kevin Jr., Marley, Chelsie, Mackensie, Megan, Christopher, John and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers: Edwin (Gertrude) Howe and Stanley (Josephine) Howe; sister Elizabeth Howe; brothers-in-law: Jan (Rosellen) Brake, Elwood (Tina) Brake and Edward Brake (Kathy Miley); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son John Howe, parents Thomas and Sarah Howe, brothers Frank, Thomas, Cecil and Harold Howe, parents-in-law Cecil and Leah Brake, sister-in-law Gertrude White, brother-in-law Zebedee Brake and nephew Edward Brake. Cremation has taken place. As per Douglas' request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake.
