The death occurred Friday, February 19, 2016 of Joan Winifred Armstrong (nee Miller), Charlottetown, age 93 years.
Born in Charlottetown, Joan was the daughter of the late Harry Miller and Hazel Taylor. She attended Prince Street School and graduated from Prince of Whales College in 1942. She joined the RCAF (Women's Division) that year and served at various RCAF stations for four years.
Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, William E. Armstrong, her sister, Lois Miller, and her brothers, Edward Miller and Stanley Miller. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kim Zinn (Bill), Guy (Christine), Gary (Susan), Kristin Stewart (Clifford), her 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Joan was much involved with her church, St. Paul's Anglican for many years, the Charlottetown Meals on Wheels program, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary and the WO-HE-LO Club.
Heartfelt thanks go out to her granddaughter, Heidi Zinn, her niece, Debbie Miller, the wonderful staff and her friends at Andrews of Stratford and Dr. Veale for her exceptional care and the staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home for visitation Sunday 2-5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery.
