DUNCAN, CHARLOTTE ALBERTA (MYLES)
1927 - 2016
Charlotte Duncan of Fredericton New Brunswick, passed away peacefully, holding her brother Jim’s hand, on Friday evening, February 19, 2016 at Shannex Parkland where she resided for the past five years benefiting from the staff’s loving care.
The daughter of Wesley and Audrey (Lister) Myles of Fredericton, she graduated from FHS, the NB Provincial Normal School and the Royal Victoria School of Nursing in Montreal. She married Jim Duncan of Fredericton in 1951, raising a family of three boys and one girl in Saint John and Moncton where Charlotte practiced nursing and shared her love of children as Playlady at Moncton General Hospital. The family was active in First Baptist Church, Moncton. She transferred her membership back to Brunswick Street Baptist when she returned to Fredericton. Her husband Jim passed away in 1994.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Ross and sister Frances. She is survived by sister Jane Rogers, Sarnia, and brothers David Myles, Prince William, John Myles, Lake George and Jim Myles, Fredericton. Her children have given her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren so far. They are son Peter (Kathy - Charlotte’s shopping buddy), Houston, grandson Jeff (Casey), Houston, great granddaughter Charlotte Grace; grandson Andrew (Audrey), Austin, TX and great-granddaughter Georgia Mae; son Ross (Heather), Quispamsis and grandchildren Carolyn and Jonathan; son Jim (Chris), Timmins and granddaughter Jaime; daughter Frances Dickson (Chris), Toronto and grandchildren Katie, Toronto, Jamie (Amanda), Dallas and Michael, Montreal.
“In all the world there is no other can take the place of our dear Mother”. The fridge will definitely not get cleaned as often now. Love you Mum.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension.
