McCULLY, HELEN
Helen E. (Taylor) McCully, 80, of Enfield, CT loving wife of Roger W. McCully entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Blair Manor in Enfield with her family by her side. Helen was born July 16, 1935, in Aroostock, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the 14th of 15 children born to the late Henry Webster and Olive Maude (Finnemore) Taylor.
Helen attended local schools in Canada and shortly after getting married in 1955 she and Roger immigrated to the U.S. where she has lived for over 60 years. Helen was employed by Friendly's and retired from Lego. After retiring she took a job at Costco to get out of the house. Caring for her family was most important to Helen, she loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her loved ones. After family came Neil Diamond, Helen was a longtime and faithful member of FOND (Friends of Neil Diamond). Helen attended countless concerts of his with Roger, her children and friends. She was the ultimate groupie!
In addition to her husband, Roger to whom she was married 60 years she is also survived by two daughters, Debra Armata and her husband, Don of Feeding Hills, MA and Faye Szczepanski of Windsor Locks; four loving grandchildren, Nicholas Armata of Feeding Hills, MA; Cassandra Armata of Boston, MA, Christina Myette and her husband, Devin of Southwick, MA and Thomas "TJ" Szczepanski, Jr. of Windsor Locks; her beloved great-granddaughter, Madison Faye Myette and hundreds of nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by eight brothers, six sisters and a son-in-law, Thomas D. Szczepanski.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 4 pm to 7 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
