The death occurred on Monday, February 8, 2016 in Seminole, Florida of Dr. Derrill I. McGuigan, formerly of Hope River, in his 92nd year.
Derrill retired from Ryder University in New Jersey as head of the Psychology Department and moved to Florida in 1992.
Derrill was predeceased by his parents, Emmett and Agnes (O'Connor) McGuigan, by his brother, John F. McGuigan, and his sister, Marie Driscoll. He is survived by one sister, Helen MacDonald, Charlottetown, and two brothers, James (Anita) McGuigan, Charlottetown and West Bridgewater, Mass., and Lorne (Joanne) McGuigan of Charlottetown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home for visitation Sunday, February 28, from 3-6 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Monday, February 29, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
