Plymouth - Susan “Susie” Fraser, passed away peacefully in her home at 25 MacBeth Road, in the arms of loved ones, on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
Born April 17, 1954, she spent her early years in a variety of supported living arrangements. In July 1977, she found her much sought for home and family with Highland Community Residential Services.
Susie is survived by her loving extended family and dedicated caregivers (support staff) at 25 MacBeth Road, special friend, John Charles Fraser.
She was predeceased by wonderful friends, Sister Catherine Steele and Irene Lamey.
Susie always greeted you with a smile and a giggle while asking “work tomorrow?” She enjoyed attending Summer Street Industries until her declining health dictated her retirement in 2010. Susie will be remembered for her caring, motherly ways towards all her housemates, ensuring they were prepared for the work day, ready for the dance or whatever event may be happening.
Her favorite times of the year were Easter, Christmas and celebrating everyone’s birthdays with cake and balloons.
HCRS would like to thank Dr. T. Park, The Palliative Care team and VON for their excellent care of Susie. A special Thank you to the dedicated care givers at MacBeth Road for their loving care and support shown to Susie.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation from 1- 2 pm Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, followed by Funeral Mass at 2 pm, with Father Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Highland Community Residential Services (HCRS) Foundation.
