SMITH, ORAN
Oran Peter Smith, 85, of Smith Branch Road, Colpitts Settlement passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital. Born at The Glades, he was the son of the late William and Tina (Harrison) Smith.
Oran was the retired owner-operator of Smith's Well Drilling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by his daughters Peggy Smith (Reg), Barbie Smith and Darlene Smith all of The Glades, Charlotte Smith (Curtis), Moncton and Beverly Parlee (Mark), Miramichi; son Jackie (Beverly), Vancouver; sisters Peachy Marr (late Milton), Gagetown, Dorothy Jean Black (late Chester), River Glade; grandsons Marty, Matthew, Kristopher, Nicholas, James, Jeremy, Angus, Jessie, Damon, Gage; great-grandchildren Dylan, Morgan, Archer, Nathalya, Lucas and Allie and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife Helen (Steeves); sisters Edna Stewart, Ella Smith, Bertha Lewis; brothers Tim, Bill, Seward, Lloyd, Carl, Everett, Lewis and five infant siblings.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Friday, March 18 from 6 to 9 pm and from where a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 19 at 1 pm with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment at The Glades Cemetery at a later date.
