McWILLIAM, AUDREY M.
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Audrey M. McWilliam, 93, of the Salisbury Road, Moncton on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Born in Saint John, she was the only child of the late Hugh and Georgina (Munroe) Bailey.
Audrey was the loving wife for 67 years to the late Ronald McWilliam (November 2014). Left to mourn are her three children, Fred, Linda (John Rice) and Michael (Claire); her seven grandchildren, Sherisse, Andrea (Andrew), Christopher (April), Jordan (Grace), Neil (Jenna), Leslie (Tyler) and Erin; and her five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Samantha, Grace, Josiah and Emily. Audrey is also survived by a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Audrey grew up and attended schools in Harcourt and graduated from Success Business College in Moncton. She worked, in her early years, as a stenographer for Robin Hood Flour. She was a member of St. John’s United Church and of the former Wesley Memorial United. She was a life member of the former Allison Women’s Institute, holding many executive positions. For many years, she volunteered as a “pink lady” for the Spencer Home. She also spent many happy times as she danced with Ron with the Charlie’s Angels Round Dance Club and over 25 years as a member of the Grassettes singers. Audrey loved to spend time travelling, in her flower gardens, reading countless books and doing crossword puzzles.
A special thank you to the staff of K.E. Spencer Home, especially “H” Wing for their care and support in these last few years.
Visitation to be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.. A Service celebrating Audrey’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm, with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating.
