GAUDET, ULRIC
Ulric Gaudet, 93, of Grand-Barachois passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC on Sunday March 20th, 2016. Born in Barachois on June 4th, 1922, he was the son of the late Frank and Jacqueline (Arsenault) Gaudet.
He was proud to be of a founding family of Barachois. A former fisherman, he was also employed with the Department of Fisheries prior to his retirement. He served with the Royal Canadian Army having served in Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He loved animals, boating and camping.
He will be sadly missed by his five children: Bernard (Jeanne LeBlanc) of Shediac, Jeaninne (Karl Goguen) of Grand Lake, Louis-Joseph (Bernice) of Grand-Barachois, Denise of Emyvale, PEI and Rose of Moncton; four brothers and sisters: Marina Bourque (late Bernard) of Shediac, Rita Leger (late Blair), Lorraine Caissie and Merville all of Grand-Barachois; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Gaudet (2013); three brothers: Léo, Edgar and Aquila; two sisters: Irène McFaddon and Stella Doiron.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Tuesday, March 22nd from 7 to 9pm, Wednesday from 9:30 till time of departure 10:10am. The funeral mass will be held at St. Henri Roman Catholic Church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10:30am.
In memory of Ulric, a contribution to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology department) would be appreciated.
