New Glasgow - William (Bill) Robert Taylor, 80, passed away with his family by his side, on March 19, 2016 at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital in New Glasgow, NS.
Bill grew up in Halifax and lived in various places for 6 years while serving as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by years in Dartmouth, Sackville, Hatchet Lake, and finally New Glasgow for the past 25 years.
Bill retired from a long career with Canada Post in 1993, followed by years of driving school bus, and finally a taxi driver for Cargo Cabs in New Glasgow.
Bill was the son of the late William and Eva Taylor, and late stepmother Evelyn Taylor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Christine (Slaunwhite); sons: Barry (Joan); Stephen (Kim); and Robert; daughters: Marlene and Susan; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his sister, June Coote, and many dearly loved extended family members.
Bill was predeceased by his daughter Janice in 2009.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, in New Glasgow.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2-5 pm, Prospect Road Community Centre.
