Don Woodley

Don Woodley, of Moose Jaw, (formerly of Drinkwater) passed away peacefully on March 25, 2016, at the age of 86 years, after a battle with cancer. Don was born April 21, 1929 in Moose Jaw. He married June Smith in 1952 and they farmed in the Drinkwater area until he retired in 1994. Don loved to curl and he and June traveled the world to watch several world championships. He also loved watching sports on TV and mastering the daily crossword puzzle. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years June, his parents Gordon and Leona Woodley, his infant brother Lyle and his brother Marv. He is survived by his three children: Lee Northup (Charles) of Calgary and grandchildren Matthew (Laura), Clinton (Kelsey) and Allison (Ryan); Grant Woodley (Denise) of Drinkwater and grandchildren Corey (Alicia), Kirk (Amy) and Amanda (Murray); and Linda DeLong (Jim) of Airdrie and grandchildren Jaylein and Kyle (Leigh); and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bill Smith (Greta) of Drinkwater, sister-in-law Norma Watson (Bob) of Wolseley and sister-in-law Margie Woodley of Moose Jaw. Following Don's wishes, a private family burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sask. Cancer Agency, #204 – 3775 Pasqua St., Regina, S4S 6W8, would be gratefully accepted. In living memory of Don, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
