Gregory Randolph Sharpe

Sharpe, Gregory Randolph, Londonderry, ~also affectionately known as "Sharpie or Gregger" passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on March 29th, 2016 at the age of 45. Greg leaves behind his wife, Sue (nee Barkhouse) and their kids, Ashleigh Jayne and Aaron James, both at home.

Greg was born in Truro, August 15, 1970 to the late Thomas and Kay (Quinn) Sharpe. Greg attended school in Hilden, Brookfield, Bass River and graduated in 1989 from CEC. Greg went back to school in 2003 and obtained his Red Seal Certificate for Construction Electrician in 2005 from the NSCC, Greg loved his line of work and was employed with Sorensen's Electric

Greg excelled in all sports, especially track and field. In 1987 he competed in the Legion Games held in Calgary and in 1989 competed in the Canada Summer Games in Saskatoon representing Nova Scotia and held the Provincial Junior Record for indoor shot put, 13.44 metres. Greg played high school football for CEC. Greg was currently a member on the Commercial Safety College mixed slo-pitch team, and had played in the mixed slo-pitch league for the past 19 years. He loved animals, and will be sadly missed by Rio, Charlie, Moses, Tater, and his special girls, Lyric and Bella C

Besides his wife and kids, Greg is survived by his brothers, Robert (Heather), Dartmouth, Johnny (Susan), Alberta, Tim (Donna), Great Village, Harold (Patty), Great Village, and his sisters, Norma (Doug Johnson), Ottawa, and Susan (Lester MacLeod), Valley. His Father and Mother in law, Earl and Diane Barkhouse, his brother and sister in law, Kevin and Janet Dykstra, and his brother and sister by choice, Troy and Tammy Barkhouse. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles, his ball family, and his girls at the Double C Restaurant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where memories of Greg will begin at 1 pm and where Greg's family will receive friends until 4 pm, Saturday April 9, 2016. Spring interment will take place in the Union Cemetery, Scott’s Bay, Kings County – the place he, Sue and the kids loved the most. Family flowers only. Donations in Greg's Memory can be made to the family.

The family would like to thank Greg's doctors, Rowe, Henderson, Groom and his VON/Palliative care nurses for all their care, Steve Sorensen and the gang at Sorensen's Electric, Betty Blackie and the girls at The Stay N Play Canine Centre, our Family, friends, coworkers, teammates, and coaches for all their love and support through all of this and for always being there no matter when we needed you. .
