After a courageous battle, Eileen Noella Friis (nee Collins), beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, of Pt. Verde passed peacefully away on April 9th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at the Placentia Health Care Centre. Her spirit was released from her tired body and she has now been reunited with her loving parents in Heaven, Michael and Ellen Collins. Her beautiful life will forever be remembered and cherished in the lives of her devoted, loving husband Dag, her darling daughters Natalie (Felix), Kim (Gerry), Gina, her loving son Magnus; her precious grandchildren Jessica, Amanda (Patrick), Olivia (James), Eddie (Sonia), Rebecca; great-grandchildren Amy, James Jr., Khloe, Ethan; her loving brothers John (Madonna) Collins and Gordon (Betty) Collins; her nephews Gerard (Dana), Steve (Michelle), Mark, Michael (Chris), Peter (Allie); special friend Dianne White (Peter) and a large circle of extended family and wonderful friends. A very special thank you is also extended to the doctors, nurses and support staff of the Placentia Health Care Centre for the kindness, compassion and professionalism that was shown our Mother and all our family during this difficult time. We will remember your kindness forever. At Eileen's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Maher's Funeral Home, 11 Beach Road, Placentia, NL on Tuesday, April 12 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 13 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia with inurnment to follow at the Rev. Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to The Brain Injury Association of NL or a charity of one's choice. With her unconditional love of family, her amazing spirit and strong will and determination, she brought so much joy and happiness to all who knew and loved her.
