Passed peacefully away at the DVA Miller Centre on April 1, 2008, Eli William Rogers, age 89 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Jeanette (Palmer); son Wayne; stepson Ray Palmer (Wanda); Greg Palmer; step-daughter Bev (Reg Legge), Kim (Dean Osmond); eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also leaving two brothers: Frank (Marjorie), Aubrey (Bernice); step-brother Dolf Wiseman (Vivian); six sisters: Mal Pippard, Levine (Al Cullimore), Mary (Frazer) Morgan, Lucy Hawley, Gertrude (Doug Elton), Margaret Rose, step-sister Ruth Payton; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Eli has been a long time member of the Avalon Lodge, Neptune Lodge, as well as an honourary member of Lodge Conception; also a WWII Veteran serving with Royal Navy and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch I. Remains resting at Carnell's Funeral Home with visitation and funeral arrangements to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
