Alan Mason, 59, passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary on Saturday, April 16.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Layton and Katherine (Atkins) Mason.
Alan is survived by his son Jarret, Halifax; his daughter Kayleigh, Pictou; and stepson Chris, Dartmouth; brothers Bill (Carolyn), New Glasgow, Sandy (Susan) Westville; Sister Joy (Junior), New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ian and nephew, Steven MacLean.
There will be no visitation or funeral. By request, in keeping with Alan’s wishes, his body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical School in hopes it will benefit others.
