It is with great sadness that the family of the late Martin James Oldford announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 77 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, sons: Peter Oldford (Beatrice) and Shawn Oldford; daughters: Sherry Oldford and Ellen Oldford; grandchildren: Alexandra N. Maynard, Jordan Oldford and Austin Schmidt; brother: Carl Oldford (Yvonne); sisters: Edna Pfeffer (Al), Gloria Austin, Mavis Burton (Gerald) and Marie Woodword; sisters in law: Kay and Mary Andely (Joe), as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by in wife Catherine "Kitty" Oldford (nee: Heudes) (2002); brother: Byron "Buck" Oldford; sister: Mary Way; brother in law: Doug Woodword and Henry Way. We would like to thank the staff at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home for their kindness and compassion. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Country Haven Funeral Chapel with Reverend Canon Roberta Woodman officiating. In keeping with Martin's wishes, cremation will take place with interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
