KEETCH, VIOLET PEARL
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Violet P. Keetch of Fredericton, NB, surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2016 at York Care Centre. Violet was born on July 29, 1931 at Bear Island, NB, a daughter of the late Donald and Hazel (Sharpe) Corey.
She was a loving person to her parents, siblings, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was her family. Violet enjoyed camping at Great Bear Campground, shopping trips and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Wendall E. Keetch; four children, Alton (Bonny) of Saint John, NB, Errol (Shirley) and Owen (Cathy), of Fredericton, NB, and Kathy Hamilton (Geoff) of Gagetown, NB; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc), Daphne (Andrew), Jared (Caitlin), Wendy (Peter), Julie, David (Naida), Bryan (Nancy), Kate (Sabrina), Lisa (Joel) and Krista (Jeff); twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by eight siblings, Florence Cleghorn, Vernon Corey (Stella), Alex Corey (Lucy), Edward Corey (Verna), Frank Corey, Leo Corey, Lee Corey and Christina Lemoine (Ray); sisters-in-law, Charlotte Corey, Muriel Duplessis, Ruth Graham and Joyce Braun (Clair); a brother-in-law, Al O’Neil; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister, Lily Maude and by her sister, Helen O’Neil; brothers, Eugene, George and Lloyd Corey; sisters-in-law, Betty Corey, Myrtle Corey and Gail Corey; a brother-in-law, Jack Cleghorn.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 12 noon until 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Douglas Blaikie officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home dining room. Interment will be later at the Upper Queensbury Cemetery.
