Georgie Savoie, 80, of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe and formerly of Saint-Anicet, QC, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on September 10, 2016 in Baie-Sainte-Anne, he was the son of the late Nazaire and Elisabeth (Gauvin) Savoie.
Georgie is survived by one daughter, Denise Abbass (Shaun) of Moncton; four grandsons: Alain, Cyril, Nick and Jessy; one step-granddaughter, Lydia; one great-grandson, Ethan; two sisters: Bernadette Drouin (Hormidas) of Montreal and Sylvia Martin (Raymond) of Quispamsis; five brothers: Gonzague of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Gabriel (Aline) of Moncton, Eustache (Guylaine) of Montreal, QC, Reginald (Jeanne) of Riverview, and Denis of St-Paul; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Georgie was predeceased by one son, Steve; two sisters: Jeannette and Claudine, and two brothers: Aimé and Nazaire Jr.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 pm until time of departure (2:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s, 340 Dominion Street, Moncton on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 3 pm. Interment will be in Baie-Ste-Anne parish cemetery.
