Rev. Deborah Strickland

The family of the late Rev. Deborah Strickland extend our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all our relatives, friends, neighbours and church families for your kindness and support during Deborah's illness and passing. Thank you to all who called, visited; sent prayers, cards, emails, flowers; made donations and brought food to our homes; to Deborah's work colleagues; the staff of Ambulatory Care and 4W, NSG. A special thank you to Dr. Beth MacCormick; Dr. P Smith; Dr. K Khodadad; the staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre; the CB Palliative Care Team; the Stem Cell Transplant Team, and the staff of 8A & 8B at the VG. From the bottom of our hearts we offer a special thank you to Deborah's Stem Cell donor for your selfless donation, a priceless gift to our family. To every one who attended the visitation and funeral, thank you for taking the time to celebrate Deborah's life. Special thanks to every one who participated in her funeral service, Bishop R. Cutler, Archdeacon B. Drake, Rev. J. Martin and all clergy present; to the organist and choir; and the Mothers' Union Honour Guard. Thank you to the pallbearers- Kyle Jardine, Scott MacKenzie, Kevin Forrest, Christopher MacLean, Mark O'Leary, Wayne Jardine, Joey MacLean and Pat Penney. Thank you to Susan Penney for the beautiful flower arrangements; to the Funeral Luncheon Committee and Mothers' Union for the lovely lunch and time of fellowship after the service and to the staff of WJ Dooleys Funeral Home for your professional guidance and patience at this difficult time. To Deborah's church family and Mothers' Union friends, we offer these words written by Deborah. " To my spiritual home, St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, thank you for all the love, kindness, prayers and support. You helped smooth the road during the most difficult times on this journey. My love for you goes beyond this world. Believe that the Holy Spirit has journeyed with us, drawn us together and will remain with us always. It is the thread that binds us." We extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every one that helped and supported Deborah and her family in any way. Your love and support are greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Children Russell, Katie & Gary, Spencer & Jolene, Grandsons Gavin & Kane, Mother Gavinna MacKenzie, Sisters Eileen, Joyce, Doreen, Gwen, Leona, Sister in law Elma, special friend Donnie and all our families.
