Mary Margaret Antonia ‘Toni’ (Dennis) Diekelmann

Born In: Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada

Passed in: Canada
Passed on: May 5th, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Toni Diekelmann, who left us to be with God on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Toni was a resident of Baddeck Forks, where she moved from Tempe, Arizona with her husband, Paul and daughter Pauline in 2003 until her passing.
Toni was born in Chatham (Miramichi), N.B. in 1938 to the late Leonard H. and Margaret ‘Peggie’ (Campbell) Dennis and grew up in Sydney, N.S., where she met her husband, Paul, at the Hawaiian School of Music on South Charlotte Street. During their 61 year marriage Toni and Paul travelled to many military and civilian homes from Hawaii to Panama and the eastern and southern United States making many lifelong friends along the way.
Toni was a hard working, dedicated and devoted wife with a strong faith in God. She was an excellent homemaker and had an eye for detail which was reflected in her work as the owner of her own accounting business in Arizona. She loved animals, was a loyal friend and had a quick witty sense of humour. Toni was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
Toni was a loving mother of three daughters, Pauline , Margaret (Keith Miles), Bras d’Or and Joanne (Volpe), Hawaii. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jacklyn and Michael (Volpe) and Sarah Marshall-Miles. She is also survived by her brother, Joe (Darlene) Dennis, Sydney and sister, Julianna (McClard), Ohio.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her oldest grandson, Stephen Marshall.
Cremation has taken place and an informal gathering at Knox Church Hall in Baddeck will take place from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th to celebrate Toni’s life.
