Thompson, Frances Ruth Diane
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frances Thompson, loving wife of Peter Thompson, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on June 25, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Donald and Hazel (Ring) Ross.
Frances was a long-time member of Portland United Church; she was a part of the congregation for 60 years. She loved to shop and thoroughly enjoyed reading. She took great pleasure in her Siamese cats, but most of all, Frances delighted in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Frances will be dearly missed by her surviving family, her husband Peter, her children: Christopher Ross (Melinda Dollar-Thompson) Thompson and Margaret Elizabeth (Brent) Greer, her grandchildren: Cameron and Madison Thompson, Meghan, Rebecca and Katelyn Greer, her great aunt, Nora Ring, cousin, Ronnie Ring, brother-in-law, Jim Vicars, her sisters-in-law: Ardith Thompson and Marlene Thompson, family friend Bill Joyce, along with several members of her extended family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by Thomas Eagles, a cousin whom Frances loved like a brother.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday May 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 16 at 12 PM with interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
