It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger on April 27, 2016 at Rouge Valley Ajax Pickering Hospital.
Roger was the youngest of eight children born to Inez and Elmo Hawco in Sydney, N.S. on May 7, 1951. Although his heart was always in Cape Breton, Roger spent the last few decades in Ontario to be near his children and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Ighedoise, Adam Hawco and April Hawco. He was a cherished grandfather to Keitara, Damien, Hayley and August. He leaves behind five siblings, Rose, Inez, Sandy, Elmo and Errol.
Predeceased by his parents, Inez and Elmo; sister, Gloria and sister, Arlene.
Roger was well known in the taxi industry, spending many years driving for City Wide Taxi in Oshawa.
Cremation has taken place. Following a visitation on Sunday, May 1st, Roger began the trip home to Cape Breton, where he will be sprinkled in the ocean by his family.
