Helen Lucille Mead, age 76, passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital on May 9, 2016. The memorial service was held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Stephen's Anglican Church with Reverend Jonathan Hoskin officiating. The organist was Pattie Robertshaw, a poem was read by Barb Hovland, and honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Helen's life. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Helen is survived by her children Glenda (Jose) Rosales (Mead), Barbara (Norman) Hovland (Mead), and David (Mary) Mead; grandchildren Daniel Rosales, Emerson Rosales, Ana Rosales, April Hovland, Kimberley Hovland, Tyler Hovland, Terry Hovland, Tristen Mead and Megan Mead; great grandchildren Aniella St. Pierre, Saulomon St. Pierre, Lyla St. Pierre and Kyren Koluk; bothers and sisters Yvonne (Leonard) Soden, Francis Garrett, Donna (Fred) Rohrich, Bryan Merritt, Deb Wagner, Randy Schwab, Valerie (Al) Love; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents Harold and Audrey Merritt; sons Donald and Gordon Mead; brother-in-law Don Garrett; sister-in-law Brenda Merritt; and grandparents George and Deborah Merritt and Burton and Ida Renwick. She attend school in Cabri, SK. Helen was employed at the Swift Current Union Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.
