At the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge with family by his side on Monday, May 16, 2016 of Charles Robert Stewart, aged 86 years, formerly of Alberry Plains.
Dearly loved husband of Rita (nee Redmond) and cherished father of George (Laura), Judy Kelly (Lennie), Bobby - deceased, Glenda Wilkins (Walter), Janet Koughan (Paul) and Peggy - deceased. Adored Gimpy to Melanie Belik (Darren), Lindsay Kelly-Maund (Travis), Darcy Kelly (Lindsay), Ryan Stewart (Anna), Nick Stewart (Jacy), Kyle Stewart, Helena Stewart (Cody), Matthew Wilkins, Nick Wilkins (Jenna), Ben Koughan; great-grandchildren - Madison, Payton, Coby, Abbey, Griffin, Emma, Lucas, Kloe, Charli and Amelia. Survived by brother, Billy, sister, Inez, brother-in-law, Andrew, sister-in-law, Catherine and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Susan (nee Walker) Stewart, brothers - Tom and Davy, and sisters - Mae and Blanche.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 19, 2016 at St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the St. Joachim’s Cemetery Fund or Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge would be appreciated.
