RONALD JAMES WILLIAM ELSDON

RONALD JAMES WILLIAM ELSDON

October 10, 1938 - May 9 2016

One of the most amazing people left our world.
Ron was born in London, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Nettie Elsdon and sister Sharron.
Ron often said he was a "jack of all trades, master of none". Ron was a hard worker enjoying his many jobs: long haul truck driving, concrete, farming, gold-mining, coal miner then foreman for Smoky River Coal. Ron has been a Royal Canadian Legion member for 16 years.
After retirement he went back to work as furniture salesman/assembler at Liquidation World. Sunshine Coast Travel Ambassadors welcomed him in a volunteer position for BC Ferries, keeping him busy and happy in retirement.
Our Daddio, father-in-law, grandpa, papa, great-grandpa and friend will be dearly missed by Julie (Bobby), Kyla(Evan), Emily, Kielan, Cory, Ryan, Debbie (Billy), Austin (Avery), Cameron, Marcie (Ken), Brandon, Nathan, Gail (Leo) and many other family. He left us with wonderful memories, great looks, best sense of humour, so much love and courage to go on without him here. Ron was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all including his cuddle buddy Tonka. Dad always had a smile and knew everyone's name. His daughters were his pride and joy and will hold him dear to their hearts. The whole family knows how much he loved and cherished them all.
Ron lived in many beautiful places, making sure we all knew that the Sunshine Coast was his favourite. Family, food, fun and friends were Dad's most enjoyed past times.
Thank you for the support of old and new friends he made at the Ruby Slipper Support group.
We would all like to send a big thank you to Dr. Eddie Berinstein, the palliative care team, the nurses and staff at Shorncliffe Hospice and paramedics. We appreciate your help in keeping Ron comfy and cozy in his end of life journey.
In Ron's honour, please say a hello at all you meet along the way.
No service by request.
"What will be, will be".
