It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, our rock, on May 2, 2016.
Betty was born on November 30, 1938 in her family home in Gibsons and lived her life on the Sunshine Coast, where she met and married Earl Tyson and together they raised eight children.
In Betty's spare time, she loved to play cards (Crib) and bingo and met many good friends she held dear to her heart. Her smile and laugh will be missed by many.
Betty is predeceased by her husband Earl Tyson, father Ed Smith, mother Mabel Smith (nee Martin), brothers Leonard, Reg, Cliff and Dennis, sister Shirley, and great-grandson Jack Tripp.
Betty is survived and will be forever missed by her loving children, Lynn Tyson (Darryl), Sheryl Savvis (Michael), Laurie Tyson, Randy Tyson (Cindy-Lee), Wayne Tyson (Leah), Rick Tyson (Cheryl), Gerry Tyson and Lisa Tyson; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mom's good friend Denise, who was by her side when she passed away.
A celebration of Betty's life will be announced at a later date.
