We are sad to relay that Mike "Blind Mike" Peters passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 8 in Gibsons, BC.
Born in Vancouver, Mike is predeceased by his father Jack Peters. He is survived by his mother Peggy Peters, brothers Dick Peters (Wilson Creek) and Larry Peters (Odessa, Oregon). He leaves behind many friends, both human (including Doreen) and canine! (Olsa and Elsa).
Growing up in North Vancouver he was part of the Deep Cove kids. He was a champion motorcycle racer in the Pacific Northwest and an avid sailor in the Gibsons area. He had many stories to share as part of a crew on passage to Panama and the Caribbean.
Mike came to the Sunshine Coast sometime in the 1980’s.
A skilled carpenter, Mike was well known for his framing skills and housebuilding. He has left behind many a solid structure in North Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast.
Mike was a real character and we all know ...... he did things his way!
