Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, following a brief illness, while surrounded by loving family members, Garrett Patrick Hickey, of Riverhead, S.M.B., formerly of Placentia, aged 83 years. Predeceased by brother Raymond (1997), sisters Mary (1935) and Mary Carroll (2009) and granddaughter Jasmine (1991). Leaving to mourn with fond memories, his loving wife of 62 years, Gladys (nee Corcoran); sons Des (Luey), Mac (Ruth), Gary (Barb), Dean (Cathy), Wilfred (Nyle); daughters: Thelma (Rick), Michelle, Cindy (David); grandchildren: Jamie (Lisa), Jason (Stephen), Stephen (Felicia), Matthew, Natasha, Tyler, Jonathon (Kaitlyn), Danielle, Shane, Marsha (Jason), Brittany (Matt), Manisha, Mitchell, Danielle (Mark), Scott; great-grandchildren: Garrett, Olivia, special Niece Darlene; brothers: Dermot, Ron (Delaine), Ed (Sue); sisters: Rose, Joan (Jack), Charolette (Jim), Donna (John) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, from 2 - 4pm; 7 - 9pm (No visitation on Monday). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Monday, May 23, at 10am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary's. Burial to follow at St. Mary's.
