1930 - 2016
Spirited entrepreneur, devout Catholic, loving husband and father, devoted grandfather, tireless community advocate, altruistic confidant, esteemed patriarch. Passed peacefully away at his cherished home, pursuant to his wishes, on "the corner" in St. Bride's, in the presence of his beloved family on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Predeceased by his dedicated wife Julia (nee Careen); daughters Mary and Margaret (infant); parents Nora (nee Coffey) and Walter Manning; stepmother Kathleen; sister Mary Ann English; brothers Michael, Leonard, Gerry, Johnny; daughter-in-law Eileen Gidge-Manning. Leaving to celebrate his life, his six sons Eugene (Joan), Walter, Pat (Colleen), Calvin (Rhonda), Fabian (Sandra), Michael (Tracey), and cherished daughter Roslyn; his brother Allan (Mary); son-in-law Derm; his 21 grandchildren Sara, Jean, Judy, Walter, Janice, Catherine, Suzanne, Claire, Eugene, Andrew, James, Luke, Fabian, Kyle, Mark, Julia, Jacob, Kathleen, Emily, Heather, and Mary; ten great-grandchildren; much appreciated friend and sister-in-law Monica; and a large circle of extended family and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Manning's Funeral Service. Resting at Sacred Heart Church, St. Bride's.
