August 1, 1946 – May 18, 2016
Following a long three and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer Joan is now at peace and pain free in the arms of the Lord. Through this journey her faith was a true testament and inspiration to all who knew her.
Joan is survived by Marvin, her loving husband of 49 years, her sons Glen and Greg, daughter-in-laws Jacqueline and Crystal, three grandchildren, Ryan, Cole and Emma, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Joan worked at the Coast Garibaldi Health Unit for 26 years and upon her retirement was involved in various volunteer activities within the community.
She will always be remembered for her smiling face and gentle heart. Joan’s passion was singing with the Arbutus Sound Chorus; she truly loved the music and the ladies she sang with.
A special thank you to Dr. Lehman, Palliative Care Nurses Irene, Suzanne and Lisa as well as her home care workers for all their help and loving support.

Joan was a remarkable lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 711 Park Road, Gibsons, BC on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2pm.
