Isabelle Barker
Passed on: May 23rd, 2016
Isabelle Flora (Germain) Barker – She was a true gift to this world and her life journey on earth ended peacefully on May 23rd, 2016 at the age of 69 years. Isabelle was born July 16, 1946, the 2nd of eight children in Alida, SK with strong French roots. From an early age, Isabelle had an insatiable appetite for learning and creating. A teacher by profession, she was fearless in her tasks and challenged herself to any project. There was nothing she couldn’t design and construct. Isabelle made an impression with everyone she met, no matter a moment or a lifetime. She had a rare gift of loving and seeing the heart of a person before anything else. Her love of travel, her community service, many clubs, organizations and volunteering allowed her to connect with people, local and all over the world. She was especially devoted to navigating with CASARA (Civil Air Search and Rescue Association). Her most recent passion was co-piloting next to her husband Al. Isabelle felt there were no boundaries to who was considered her family. She has joined her Dad, Ross in Heaven. Isabelle leaves to mourn her husband and soulmate, Al as well as her beloved Mom, Claire, and siblings, Dianne (Larry), Eddie, Margaret (Brian), Pauline, Maurice (Cynthia), Claude (Donna), and Bryant (George). Cherishing her memories are her daughters, Cynthia (Amr), Jacqueline (Don), Tammi (Jason), Debbie (Carmen) along with Dawn (Shane), Jack (Jenna), Joe (Kim), Pam and Krista (Rick). Grandma Izzy will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In keeping with Isabelle’s loving and generous spirit, it was her gift to donate life so that others may live. We would like express a special thanks to the incredible staff of Medical Intensive Care Unit and Organ Transplant Team of RGH as well as the staff at Swift Current Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association - Swift Current Branch. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Church.
