JOHNSON, EDMUND LUKE
Edmund Johnson of Barkers Point, NB passed from this life on Saturday, May 28th, 2016 at the York Care Centre. He was born in Nashua, New Hampshire to the late Arthur and Edith (Kelly) Johnson on December 30th, 1932. At the age of 12, he moved with his parents to Prince William, NB.
Edmund will be missed by his cousins, Luke Kelly (Dianne) of Lake George, NB, Patricia Dixon of Lexington, Mass., USA, Andrew Dixon (Karen) of Lexington, Mass., USA, Jack Johnson (Judy) of Fredericton, NB and Carla Ward (Richard) of Hanwell, NB and their families. He will also not be forgotten by his cousins, extended family, friends, care givers and his church family.
Edmund was a proud member of the Barkers Point community and in his younger years, was a proud seasonal worker for the City of Fredericton. He loved to attend the VON’s Adult Day Program and he especially liked travelling with Luke and Dianne to Boston to visit Pat and her family and time spent with Tammy and John. Edmund was a long‑time member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church and was involved with the building of the church’s current facility.
Edmund had the support and care of Dr. Tom Barry; his caregiver, Lucy Howe and recently the staff of York Care Centre.
A visitation with reception will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street on Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Gordon Cook will officiate. Following a reception, interment will take place in the Prince William Cemetery.
Donations in Edmund’s memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton or the Greenwood Drive Baptist Church.
