Albert CORRIVEAU

Born In: Albertville, Saskatchewan, Canada

Passed on: May 18th, 2016

Roderick, Brian, and Grant Corriveau regret to announce the recent death of their father, Albert Andre Corriveau, after a number of difficult years during which his health sadly declined. "Al", as he was known in Fort St. John, was born in 1940 in Albertville, Saskatchewan, into a French speaking farming family, as the fourth of six children. He arrived in Fort St. John in the early 1960's in seek of economic opportunity, and met his first wife, Wilma, while working as a (tall and dashing, we hear) equipment operator and handyman. They had 3 sons, us, and together Al and Wilma founded the highly successful Alco Services Ltd., with our father as the front man and a force of nature when it came to hard work and business relationships, and our mother behind the scenes, as the bookkeeper and bill collector. We are grateful that many people besides us know and fondly remember and respect Al, including through his business endeavors, hunting, fishing, snowmobile trips, music, and generosity, and regret that we are not more visible to the community during this sad time for the family, and for his many friends. Our love for our father remains stalwart, and we are full of gratitude and respect for him and all that he brought to our lives, and for the many people who know, liked, and loved him. Al is survived by 3 siblings, Helen Leduc, Diane Scott, and Raymond Corriveau; his 3 grandchildren (Brian and Nicole's children) Emma, Liam, and Lucy; and by his second wife, Margaret Keobke. He was a good man, a strong presence, and is missed.
